We think not but then we could be biased! For the Borderfields team its always been about heritage and our traditions which are rooted in the beautiful British countryside. For those who don’t know, we are a traditional farming co-operative. Our partnership of like-minded farmers are all highly skilled and experienced growers of vegetables, cereals and oilseeds. As well as combining the expertise to bring high quality produce to market, our growers share a passion to bring the delightful flavour, versatility and goodness of British rapeseed oil products to more people.
Just like Borderfields products, Head of the Borderfields group of growers Jon Hammond likes to keep things simple. “In everything we do, we make sure we’re adding something and not taking away. We have a burning desire to be good at what we do, to stand out, to offer something different and to be exceptional in every way.” Jon is at the front line of food production. He supplies the leading supermarkets with thousands of tons of vegetables grown in farms throughout 17,000 acres in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.
It is at Hammond HQ where we are hosting our Borderfields Gourmet Garden Day next Wed 26th August. This wonderful ‘Garden of Innovation’ includes the finest and most unusual British produce. The event is located on a fully-working farm just 4 miles from Nottingham’s City Centre and it is here that we are showcasing 15 acres dedicated to growing rarely-seen variations of crops, herbs and root vegetables [more than 50 in total!]. The day includes a full guided tour, Borderfields cooking demonstrations from Chef Philippe Wavrin and a delicious freshly prepared lunch. Our aim is to create the perfect mix of the best homegrown fresh seasonal produce and market leading cold pressed rapeseed oil Borderfields.Our two favourite things all wrapped up in a day of education, understanding and eating! Where else would you want to be!
