Here at Borderfields we love to bake. With great food related TV shows such as The Great British Bake Off and MasterChef, it’s no surprise we find ourselves rushing for our aprons and baking trays to produce the best cakes and muffins around.

With summer just around the corner, many of us are starting our healthy diet plans, so why not try Borderfields cold pressed rapeseed oil as a healthy alternative to olive oil and butter when baking? The warm, earthy flavours of our oil can take your baking to a delicious new level. Using Borderfields as a substitute to butter will not only reduce the amount of saturated fat by around half, but it will also increase your intake of omega; 3, 6 & 9, as well as a good dose of Vitamin E. These are all vital for living a healthy life; reducing cholesterol and the risk of many heart related problems.

One of our favourite baking recipes to try is Kenny Atkinson’s lemon drizzle cake. Using Borderfields cold pressed rapeseed oil gives a light, moist sponge that is extremely moreish!
