It’s been a busy year for Borderfields, with an exciting new listing and a Michelin starred collaboration, we really have had a lot to be proud of this year and there is a lot to be excited about in 2017.

Springtime saw the Borderfields team travel to Birmingham for the 2016 Food & Drink Expo. Its was a successful and exciting 3 days, with the stand welcoming buyers, deli owners, restaurateurs and people from all food and drink sectors interested in the Borderfields range. The stand was complete with tasters of oil and unforgettable chocolate brownies made with Borderfields chilli infusion.

Not long after the trade show, we secured a listing with online supermarket Ocado, which successfully went live at the end of summer. The listing included our 500ml Borderfields Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil and 3 infusions, garlic, chilli and lemon. It wasn’t long before the great reviews were flooding in with positivity.

As the summer gave us beautiful weather and soaring temperatures, it was the perfect back drop to our Borderfields Garden Event which took place at the end of August. We invited a group of food writers and bloggers to join us in the Borderfields Garden in Nottinghamshire for a day of learning about the cold pressed rapeseed oil process and the wonderful things you can do with it. This was all followed by a cooking demonstration with Michelin starred chef Kenny Atkinson. Kenny created 3 dishes which demonstrated the versatility of Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil. Lemon and thyme cake bars, a basil infusion mayonnaise and mackerel with a salad of fennel and orange, brown shrimp and ginger vinaigrette. Everybody walked away full of cold pressed knowledge and fit to burst from the delicious food tasted on the day. The Borderfields Garden was a great success which we look forward to replicating in the future.

In August, we were really pleased to find out that our Borderfields garlic infusion and lemon infusion had been given a Great Taste Award star. Receiving a Great Taste star is an honour and it is great to be awarded alongside so many other fantastic food and drink producers.

Finally, December gave us more good news as the ‘Borderfields is Better’ campaign was named ‘Top Campaign in Oils’ by trade magazine The Grocer. Our infusion oils have also gained great exposure over the festive period, featuring in Good House Keeping, Net Doctor and Woman and Home’s Top Gift for Foodies.

It’s been a fulfilling year and we look forward to welcoming 2017 with open arms! Our first trade show appearance of 2017 will be the IFE (International Food & Drink Event) at the London Excel on March 19th, where we will be showcasing a new addition to the range, Borderfields Gold. All will be revealed very soon!

Best wishes and Happy New Year form everyone at Borderfields!
